Join in and get creative at this model-making workshop, through playful, hands-on making you’ll explore the principles of design and architecture.
Guided by specialist architectural modelmakers, participants will learn how to design and build a scale model of a modernist seafront building using recycled and craft materials.
Tools and model-making equipment will be provided, but please bring along recycled materials from home (cereal packets, plastic bottles and containers etc).
Suitable for all ages – children, young people and adults. (Children under 14 must be accompanied.)
The workshop is conceived and led by Mike Fairbrass, who worked as Head Modelmaker and Model shop Manager for Lord Richard Rogers in his international architecture practice for over 30 years. He has hosted modelmaking workshops at the Royal Academy, The V&A, and The Design Museum as well as in Europe and the Far East.
